  The West Bay Club - "Gustav Challenge" in Estero, Florida on August 30th & 31st gave all players an experience of playing in winds associated with a hurricane located in the nearby Gulf of Mexico. The challenge was met in the final round by Shane White of Weston, shooting a 75 to win the Boys 15-18 division, Edward Figueroa of Naples, with a pair of 75s, needed one more hole against Jordan Miller of Bradenton to win the Boys 13-14. Jordan returned the low score of the tournament with a 71 in the tropical winds. Jennifer Villa in Girls 13-18 won her second tournament in a row while Bernardo Curbelo, Boys 12 & Under won his first Platinum Tour tournament.
